Sister Barbara Markey Is Stealing Nun
The nun admitted to have gambled most of the money away in Vegas, and used the rest for trips and gifts. According to her attorney, J. William Gallup, the charitable agreed to pay $125,000 in restitution to the archdiocese even tough she has stolen over $300,000. The state and archdiocese agreed not to object to probation for Markey. Her sentencing is set for July, and she will face up to 20 years in prision.
