So We Had An Earthquake Last Night
This got us talking last week about being in middle school when Iben Browning predicted that there would be an earthquake on a certain day in the New Madrid seismic zone. Everybody was freaking out. All the schools had earthquake drills. Insurance companies were selling earthquake insurance like mad. It was like the Y2K crisis, only 10 years earlier. On the predicted day, something like 20% of the students in my school stayed home because of parents and their fears.
