Truckers Strike

Symmary:

This sounds like the type of business plan that Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn might propose. Petersburg, Fla., and others said it costs about $1 a mile to drive one of the big rigs, although some companies are offering as little as 87 cents a mile. Diesel cost $4.03 a gallon at the Jacksonville-area truck stop. It might not sound nice, but if as a shipper you can offer a price and somebody will sign a contract for that price, why wouldnt you offer the lowest price?
