WALL STREET JOURNAL’S MARCUS W. BRAUCHLI TO RESIGN!
Brauchli took over the top editorial job in May 2007, shortly after Rupert Murdoch made his unsolicited $5 billion bid for the Journal’s parent Dow Jones–but nearly three months before the deal was completed. A Journal veteran, Brauchli’s been regarded as a newsroom favorite, and seen by many as a buffer between the editorial staff and Murdoch. “This is a clear sign that its over–the Dow Jones culture is dead,” said one Journal staffer.
