Walt Jocketty Named Reds GM
Although Jocketty was something of a mentor to Mozeliak, the latter is nothing close to a carbon copy of the former. If Cincinnati gets serious about contending, I still wouldn’t completely write off the possibility that Jocketty tries to convince manager Tony La Russa and pitching coach Dave Duncan to come with him. Jocketty didn’t have the power to make it happen last year. But I still think it is suspicious that La Russa only signed a short term deal with the Cardinals.
