Cleveland Heights resident Connie Roop, too, said she has nothing but praise for the race after running the half-marathon every year. But David Patt, director of the Chicago-based Association of Running Event Directors, said last year the Cleveland Marathon has an image problem. Yet holding up Cleveland’s regional race next to marathons in world capitals such as London, Chicago, New York or Boston isn’t helpful.
