Deploying Operation Uphold Democracy
The Spectre has been a symbol of the 16th Special Operations Squadron and the AC-130 gunship since inception in the late 1960’s. New Mexicos congressional delegation says Cannon Air Force Base will be the new home of the Air Forces 16th Special Operations Squadron. The 16th Special Operations Squadron (16th SOS), located at Hurlburt Field, Fla., is one of nine flying squadrons assigned to the 1st Special Operations Wing.
