These permits are required for burning approved combustibles in piles larger than 4 feet in diameter. To obtain the required permit, contact the nearest Cal Fire office for an application. In addition to the Cal Fire permit, the North Coast Air Quality Management District requires a special Non-residential Coordinated Burn Authorization for burning piles greater than 4 feet in diameter. Cal Fire no longer requires a permit for burning piles less than 4 feet in diameter.
