Ginepri Ends Mini-skid For US Men At French
The 88th-ranked Ginepri never had won a match at Roland Garros until this week, losing in the first round in each of his previous five appearances at the clay-court Grand Slam tournament. He also was 6-24 for his career on clay before compiling three consecutive victories, including an upset of No. 27 Igor Andreev in the second round. If Ginepri had lost, it would have been only the second time in the Open Era, which began in 1968, that no U.S.
