Mildred Loving, the black woman who along with her white husband Richard Loving, challenged the ban on interracial marriages in Virginia, passed away last Friday according to her daughter. Mildred Loving, a black woman whose challenge to Virginia’s ban on interracial marriage led to a landmark Supreme Court ruling striking down such laws nationwide, has died, her daughter said Monday.
