Mesa Air To Close Air Midwest, Slicing Small City Service
The list includes cities served by Air Midwest under the federal government’s Essential Air Service program, which subsidizes flights on routes that would otherwise be unprofitable. Mesa chief executive officer Jonathan Ornstein says Air Midwest has been unprofitable for several years, even with the subsidies. The cities losing service include Farmington.
