A veterinarian says a horse that broke down during an undercard sluice as far as something the kentucky oaks has an injury similar to barbaros and has a 50 percent chance of survival. The colt chelokee was trained by barbaros trainer michael matz. He has won five of 10 lifetime starts, including the barbaro stakes last may at the preakness. Larry bramlage, a vet at rood and riddle hospital in lexington, upgraded chelokees condition saturday.
