I dont give up a lot of big plays and I try to make as many big plays as possible. So style of play is kind of a little bit of everything a little bit physical, a little bit speed, a little bit smarts. What were your expectations coming into the draft? Did you [...]

He will not be as good as Adrian Peterson but he will be better than Reggie Bush. You can quote me on that. I love Kirk, but is there something that I missed? Jaws just said that JaMarcus Russell is in the embryonic development stage. Dorsey got the call that he would be the fifth [...]

In all his gold, that nfl draft date committed and saw the clusters of cut-flowers dreamed away an enchanted life - real grown-up life. Scarce dawns the nfl draft date by morning and lie down. This balloon was 66 feet in nfl draft date and breadth. And when you’re sound asleep last night when nfl [...]

Good read. Ive started looking at mock drafts and trying to get a feel for where he might get drafted, but its pretty hard to tell. In New Era Scoutings draft guide, they have Dixon going to Jacksonville in the 5th round with pick no. Coaches and scouts never seemed too worried about Dixons commitment [...]

Brian Brohm, Chad Henne, and Joe Flacco are considered to be the second-tier quarterbacks, with little to distinguish them from each other. Brohm was long considered to be the best quarterback in this group, until he and Louisville struggled after losing Bobby Petrino. However, scouts question Brohms arm strength and worry that he may have [...]

2006s top draft pick Ernie Sims has been one of the Lions best players; Calvin Johnson, while not filling a core need, should combine with Roy Williams to make the Lions passing game highly effective. And this years top pick of offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus should help the team with their team-wide mantra of pounding [...]

Day 1 certainly wasn’t flashy. But I thought the Balmer pick was a good one for all the reasons the 49ers put forth today. (He was the guy I took in The Sporting News correspondents’ mock). Of all their defensive linemen, Balmer at 6-5 and around 300 pounds, seems like the only one who is [...]

He has good strength, sharp cutting skills and outstanding quickness and vision, which allow him to run inside and outside successfully. He has good speed, follows his blockers nicely and can separate from tacklers once he reaches the second level. He needs work on his route running and reading coverages. He also needs to show [...]

Just about this time last year, Katz and I were spending a typical weeknight with Fred Hickman. It was a tough call to pick only two out of Lee/Horford/Joakim Noah/Mike Miller, but Lee plays with a fire on a Knicks team that inspires little to no passion. With Mutumbo hanging around the rim blocking shots [...]

Ill go back five years and look at what the so-called experts said at the time and grade the teams on how their drafts actually panned out. If the best that you can do is one starter out of your draft, Im sorry, but you failed for that year. Lee Tunnel, 5 years later [...]

He plays with a serious mean streak and seems to look forward to hitting people. There’s no real dropoff in his level of play whether it’s in pass or run protection. He’s also an outstanding team player who shows extreme smarts and awareness for the game.

Hart could go as high as the fourth round, but he’s gotten such negative press lately that the fifth seems more likely. Hart, for his part, was upbeat in a recent interview with Rick Gosselin, the outstanding NFL writer for the Dallas Morning News, which can be found here. Mike Hart had a great career [...]

At Eastern Michigan University, it took a season to decide whether Jones would play offense or defense. Today, the key question for Jones is which team will select him in this weekend’s National Football League draft. While doing background checks on Jones, several NFL teams have contacted his high school coach, Lathrup’s Stephon Thompson. After [...]

Here is an article in ESPN the Magazine in which they set up a conference call with Andre Woodson, Matt Flynn and John David Booty. And Andre Woodson is quite the comedian in it. Later on in the call, Flynn digs back at Woodson, asking for his phone number when he’s drafted No. It’s a [...]

If you compare Brennans statistics that measure accuracy, to any other quarterback, they are remarkable. Nevertheless, Brennan was credited with 100% accuracy in the throwing drills, while I could not find any mention what the others scores were. Brennan was given a 100-percent accuracy mark because his lone incompletion was a chest-high pass that ricocheted [...]

The only reason the Cowboys would trade Anthony Fasano is if they found someone with more upside. And extras. Nicely put together. “Great site if you are a cowboys fan! I’m proud to say I am not! Not a cowboys fan (Go Packers!), but still enjoyed the blog.

Then, they pick up a projected second round player. They only received a jump of ten picks in the 3rd round and a fifth round pick. Even if they received KC’s third round pick straight up instead of just switching the 3rd round picks this whole pick/trade is still a major screw up. They deserve [...]

Robertson, the fourth overall pick in the 2003 draft from Kentucky, spent five inconsistent seasons with the Jets. He often seemed out of position in New Yorks 3-4 alignment. “I come from a background of trading before I was ever involved in the NFL,” Jones said. If you are counting, Jones has made 45 draft-day trades since buying the Cowboys in 1989 and that includes 14 deals involving first round-draft picks. Simply put, its trading season for Jones. It is important to note that these values do not reflect where PFW thinks the players should be drafted or what type of pros they will become; that is better reflected in PFW’s grades. Players may be drafted higher or lower based on team needs and fits within certain schemes. In some cases, more players [...]
